CULTURE

CULTURE LEADER

As a passionate, lifelong observer of people and the world around us, my journalistic instincts are never simply to write about a topic, but to create culture around that topic. I'm at my best when creating immersive experiences that are meaningful, inspirational, and resonant with audiences.

I founded Mex and the City to showcase the rich tapestry of Mexican creativity and to provide a platform where important voices break free of stereotypes.

My work with Vice’s The Creators Project demonstrates my penchant for expanding small-scale ideas into full-scale experiences.

CREATORS PROJECT

vice-creators.jpg

As Editor-in-Chief of The Creators Project for Vice Media my goal was to unleash arts coverage from the screen and launch it into the real world, in an effort to make art more accessible and more impactful.

INSTALLATION

With "Future Forward," we promoted the Toyota Prius brand with three site-specific installations built around the topics of ecology, innovation, and technology. I developed programming for the launch events, orchestrated artist talks, and developed editorial to support the tour.

CURATION

As co-curator of the exhibit "NSFW Female Gaze," I worked with the Museum of Sex to showcase 28 emerging female artists and their work, related to issues of sexuality, identity and empowerment. "NSFW Female Gaze" included artist panels, editorial features, video stories, and social media takeovers.
